To end the AIDS epidemic, HIV prevention methods must be effective and accessible to all who need them.
For decades, FHI 360 has been leading efforts to evaluate, introduce and scale-up cutting-edge biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions to prevent HIV.
Today FHI 360 has a diverse portfolio of HIV prevention work in more than 40 countries, in which we collaborate with ministries of health, government agencies, partners, and communities.
We conduct comprehensive prevention work, including service delivery and technical assistance, biomedical and implementation research, and policy and implementation support to governments.

Our approaches to HIV prevention
In all our HIV prevention work, we use data to measure the effectiveness of interventions and demonstrate the impact of our programs.
Biomedical and implementation research
We help develop and test the safety and efficacy of biomedical interventions that can prevent the transmission of HIV. We also conduct studies of HIV prevention products and provide technical assistance to country governments so they can translate research into policy and practice.
Targeted service delivery
We support local partners to deliver evidence-based prevention services. To do this most effectively, we provide physical and virtual hot-spot mapping and size estimation to identify where HIV testing and preventions services are needed most. Then, we implement an evidence-based, client-centered package of comprehensive services.
Community-based programming
To provide people with comprehensive HIV testing and prevention services, including pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis, we oversee community-based programming that reaches individuals where they are most comfortable accessing services. We also deliver community-based services for gender-based violence prevention and response as well as for elimination of perinatal transmission.
Technical assistance and capacity strengthening
We provide technical support to local partners for delivering community- and facility-based services. We also offer technical assistance to governments that are creating evidence-based HIV prevention policies and introducing new HIV prevention technologies, including new PrEP products.
Social and behavior change interventions
We develop and deploy social and behavior change (SBC) strategies that create demand for HIV prevention services, dispel myths and misconceptions, and motivate change.
Achieving the promise of new PrEP products to prevent HIV
