2012 — The Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance (IBBS) Round II 2012, is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Authority of HIV/AIDS Control and the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology. With financial and technical support from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the project collected data in 12 provinces in Vietnam on high-risk populations, including injecting drug users, female sex workers and men who have sex with men. IBBS is a community-based systematic survey designed to assess risk behaviors and the prevalence of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases among the most-at-risk populations, in order to improve tracking of the HIV epidemic and program planning. The first IBBS in Vietnam was conducted in 2005–2006.
