2012 — FHI 360 reviewed, updated and reprinted this teacher’s manual, a resource book that gives information on how to avoid filariasis, a disease caused by nematode parasites. Originally a World Health Organization publication included in the Urbani School Health Kit, this tool assists the teacher in explaining, describing and helping pupils understand the cause of lymphatic filariasis and how to prevent it.

This manual assists the teacher in explaining, describing and helping pupils understand the cause of soil-transmitted helminthiasis, an infestation with one or more intestinal parasitic worms, and how to prevent it.
No Schistosomiasis for Me
2012 — Originally a World Health Organization publication included in the Urbani School Health Kit, this teacher’s resource book was reviewed, updated and reprinted with FHI 360 support. Schistosomiasis, also known as bilharzia, is a disease caused by parasitic worms. This manual assists the teacher in explaining, describing and helping pupils understand the cause of schistosomiasis (contaminated water) and how to prevent it.
Things to Know About the Disease Filariasis
In consultation with community residents and health workers, FHI 360 reviewed a resource on filariasis — developed by a partner of the Department of Health — with communities where the disease is endemic. The results of the review and consultation were incorporated into an updated flip chart aimed at increasing community awareness of the disease and mobilizing participation in mass drug administrations.
Things to Know about Helminthiasis or Parasitism
With support from FHI 360, a new flip chart (Mga Dapat Malaman Tungkol sa Sakit na Helminthiasis o Parasitismo) was developed to increase the awareness of communities and mobilize their participation in mass drug administrations, including encouraging parents to allow their children to be dewormed.
