September 2014 — On September 4, 2014, FHI 360 hosted a one-day symposium focused on implementation science applied to health services in low- and middle-income countries. The event, Implementation Science in Global Health: Maximizing Impact in an Imperfect World, brought together researchers, practitioners and funders for an engaging discussion about producing and applying evidence to improve health and save lives. Panelists and participants shared experiences and insights from the global and domestic health arenas. They discussed the challenges of conducting implementation research in resource-poor settings and explored solutions to improve practice. The agenda included a mixture of lectures and panel discussions. A collective list of speaker profiles is available, illustrating the breadth of expertise that FHI 360 assembled for the symposium.
