Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index (reports)
December 2022 — The Civil Society Organization Sustainability Index (CSOSI) assesses the capacity of the civil society sector to serve as both a short-term partner in implementing development solutions and a long-term actor in ensuring that development outcomes are sustained. The CSOSI has regional reports for Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, Mexico, the Middle East and North Africa, and sub-Saharan Africa. These reports allow local civil society sectors to assess the environment in which they are operating and their capacity to advocate, operate sustainably and communicate with citizens.
The CSOSI reports describe advances and setbacks in seven dimensions affecting the sustainability of the civil society sector in the regions: legal environment, organizational capacity, financial viability, advocacy, service provision, sectoral infrastructure, and public image. The CSOSI reports are useful resources for local civil society organizations, governments, funders, and academicians.
