As FHI 360’s senior vice president of U.S. and regional programs, Dr. Bondurant oversees the delivery of sustainable impact through high-quality, evidence-informed U.S. and regional platforms and the provision of salient local knowledge and insights.
Bondurant has worked in international health and development for over 35 years — about 15 of which have been at FHI 360 — and has experience in Asia, Latin America, Africa and the U.S. His work has involved program and project design; management and evaluation; strategic information management and planning; institutional and organizational development; and training and facilitation. Through his roles, he has collaborated with governments, international and local nongovernmental and civil society organizations, foundations, and the private sector.
Bondurant has provided technical expertise in sexual and reproductive health (including HIV prevention, treatment and care); health sector development and reform; tuberculosis and leprosy; and community health. He has overseen portfolios including communicable and vector-borne diseases (HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, and emerging pandemic threats); maternal and child health; nutrition; research; social marketing and communication; education; and other development areas.
Bondurant holds a doctorate in international health and development from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, a master’s degree in public health from Emory University School of Public Health, and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy/religious studies from California State University, Fresno.
