Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning

FHI 360 is deeply committed to ensuring high-quality, equitable STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) learning for all students. We promote research, practice, and resources that build young people’s engagement in STEM and foster their own development of a positive STEM identity and agency. 

FHI 360 works to expand STEM in underserved communities and level the playing field through these core activities: 

• Developing research-based curricula for afterschool and other informal settings 
• Conducting research and evaluation on STEM engagement
• Working with private sector, schools, districts and other local partners to develop customized models 
• Implementing programs that provide students with real-world experiences 
• Providing training and support to corporate employees to enhance skills-based volunteering and career mentoring

Afterschool Math Plus

Building on our decades-long work, we recently provided state and national professional development to promote the adoption of Afterschool Math Plus (ASM+), our math curriculum that builds STEM knowledge and skills through fun learning experiences for students in grades 3-8.
