For Destiny De La Rosa-Santos, Bridge to Employment is an opportunity to help students at Trenton Central High School receive the academic mentorship, college preparation and leadership skills they need to pursue higher education with confidence. Alongside student scholars from The College of New Jersey, Trenton Central High School teachers, the Johnson & Johnson Foundation and FHI 360, De La Rosa-Santos is part of a partnership of organizations that designs classroom and extracurricular activities in STEM2D and beyond to meet the unique needs of students at Trenton Central High. The program has a track record of success: 100% of BTE participants who complete the program graduate from high school, and 88% of eligible BTE participants enroll in an institution of post-secondary education. Trenton’s BTE program has been sustainable now for four years past its initial pilot funding.
