Adapting our HIV programming in times of crisis is only possible because of strong relationships with knowledgeable local partners. In Ethiopia’s Tigray region, the two-year war made accessing antiretroviral therapy very difficult for people living with HIV. FHI 360’s local partner, the Organization for Social Services, Health and Development (OSSHD), played a critical role in helping Ethiopians regain access to their medicine.

Birhan’s story: Support for living with HIV during a crisis
Birhan and her husband Yirga needed to regain access to their lifesaving antiretroviral therapy (ART) following the two-year war in Ethiopia’s Tigray region. FHI 360’s local partner, the Organization for Social Services, Health and Development (OSSHD), played a critical role in adapting HIV programming to ensure that ART was within reach for Birhan, Yirga and others.
