March 2017 — The Zimbabwe HIV Care and Treatment (ZHCT) project conducted a baseline assessment of FHI 360’s work with the Government of Zimbabwe that identified HIV service gaps and measures to reduce patient attrition rates. This was a descriptive study design using mixed quantitative and qualitative methods to describe the perspectives of stakeholders on existing HIV services. Data were obtained through review of patient records, in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. In addition, facilities and other areas of interest (such as police stations and churches) were physically mapped.
