WiSTEM2D: A Commitment to Catalyzing Change

April 2020 — The Johnson & Johnson Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design (WiSTEM²D) initiative is an employee volunteer program to mentor girls. In 2019, FHI 360 visited communities in six countries to observe WiSTEM²D youth programs and gather accounts of the initiative’s impact. This case study report presents the findings and shares cross-site themes about the initiative’s influence on young women and girls’ perceptions about STEM²D. The publication features examples of WiSTEM²D programs, photos, quotes and vignettes from the field. Infographics illustrate the reach of the initiative and the need for a program that encourages women and girls in technical fields.
