April 2020 — The Johnson & Johnson Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design (WiSTEM2D) initiative is an employee volunteer program to mentor girls. In 2019, FHI 360 visited communities in six countries to observe WiSTEM2D youth programs and gather accounts of the initiative’s impact. This case study report presents the findings and shares cross-site themes about the initiative’s influence on young women and girls’ perceptions about STEM2D. The publication features examples of WiSTEM2D programs, photos, quotes and vignettes from the field. Infographics illustrate the reach of the initiative and the need for a program that encourages women and girls in technical fields.
