April 2018 — The Food and Nutrition Technical Assistance III (FANTA) project compiled Strengthening the Evidence Base for Nutrition Interventions During the “1,000 Days” to optimize the prevention of malnutrition, particularly during the critical first 1000 days of life. To strengthen and expand the evidence base for nutrition interventions, this resource summarizes several FANTA research projects and their findings. Project staff hope that these studies will be built upon and translated into effective nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive policies and programs that reduce malnutrition among mothers and young children.
