With funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development, FHI 360’s Program Research for Strengthening Services (PROGRESS) project began developing the Mobile for Reproductive Health (m4RH) project, which developed a set of text messages on family planning (fp) methods that users can access via their mobile phones. To date, m4RH has reached more than 70,000 users in Kenya and Tanzania. Preliminary data results suggest m4RH is reaching four primary populations: women, men, youth and community health workers. Electronic data collection shows that users accessed more than 475,000 messages through September 2012.
