February 2015 — The Network of Associations for Harm Reduction (NAHR) project created the first code of ethics for harm reduction projects in Egypt. This document guides the ethical principles and behaviors of NAHR members and service providers. The Code of Ethics is divided into two parts:
- NAHR General Code of Ethics for all NAHR Members. This part focuses on ensuring objectivity, integrity, transparency, equality, confidentiality, mutual respect and collaboration among members.
- NAHR Service Providers’ Code of Ethics. This part applies to service providers and is based on the principles of ensuring autonomy, protection, and voluntary participation; minimizing hazards; providing stigma-free services; and preventing physical and psychological harm.
The Code of Ethics is available in Arabic and English.
