2009 — This study highlights a small but crucial aspect to the challenges girls face while getting an education: access to school. Girls are determined to go to school and are creative in finding alternative ways to get to and from school. They face challenges with transportation that have an impact on their attendance and negatively affect targets for retention and performance.
