May 2014 — This publication reviews the literature on economic strengthening interventions for risk reduction and HIV prevention among female sex workers. It identifies best practices and opportunities for further research. Included are an overview of intervention approaches, existing research on the needs and financial practices of sex workers and an analysis of interventions designed to meet these needs. The publication makes recommendations for future research to lay the groundwork for a pilot project with female sex workers.
