June 2012 — Community mobilization and empowerment have been the foundation of the Aastha project since its inception. This series of community-based organization (CBO) management committee training manuals has been developed to equip CBO members to undertake their roles and responsibilities as stated in their bylaws. The basic training manual outlines the initial skills and work ethics required to form a CBO, including leadership and management. The advanced training manual outlines specialized administrative and financial processes, public speaking, networking, advocacy and employment generation.
