Three decades after violence was declared a public health crisis by the U.S. Surgeon General, young people in the United States continue to be affected by violence in their homes, neighborhoods and schools. FHI 360 is working with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Institutes for Research to provide training and technical assistance, using a public health approach, that helps states, tribes, territories and local communities come together to prevent youth violence.
The communities served by the project are working across systems to engage stakeholders in evidenced-based practices that produce safe and healthy school and community environments.
