In Liberia, the USAID Education Systems Strengthening Activity (USAID ESSA) is working to ensure that county- and district-level education systems are dynamic and resilient and can provide quality, equitable and inclusive services for learners throughout the country. To this end, USAID ESSA works closely with the government of Liberia’s Ministry of Education to develop solutions to complex educational governance and management challenges.
The project centers local leadership, knowledge and priorities to increase evidence-based decision-making, improve resource management and promote more accountability. By focusing on and implementing locally led solutions, USAID ESSA is working to ensure enduring change and put education within reach for all Liberian students.
FHI 360 leads USAID ESSA and implements the project’s activities with support from international and local partners, including Deloitte, Inclusive Development Partners (IDP), ADARA Research and Management Consultancy, and Rising Academies.
