The Strengthening Together Activity (STA) aims to improve the organizational capacity and performance of 25 Colombian organizations, including businesses and cooperatives, family and corporate foundations, civil society organizations, universities, and ethnic organizations, so that they are more impactful, resilient and sustainable.
In addition to working closely with local organizations to enhance their internal policies, structures and systems through tailored technical assistance and grants, STA helps them integrate processes and approaches that foster adaptive learning, such as USAID’s Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) framework, into their programming.
To help Colombian civil society organizations lead effective advocacy campaigns, STA also enhances the social and behavior change communications of Colombian civil society organizations that work on issues of critical social importance, such as public policy, climate change and peacemaking.
With a focus on sustainably strengthening Colombia’s civil society ecosystem, STA will establish a Civil Society Strengthening Hub run by a consortium of Colombian organizations that will provide high-quality, market-driven capacity strengthening services to other organizations across the country. This will ensure that local organizations not only lead and take ownership of activities beyond the end of the project, but also help them be better equipped to directly manage development programs.
