Since 2021, FHI 360 has worked across Colombia to strengthen local civil society organizations, increase economic opportunity and build resilient communities. FHI 360 strives to address Colombia’s most complex challenges by leveraging our diverse network of Colombian stakeholders, whose knowledge and expertise help achieve sustainable development outcomes.
Currently, FHI 360 implements the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Strengthening Together Activity to enhance the organizational performance and self-reliance of Colombian local partners and civil society organizations. Through a combination of technical assistance, grants, coaching and peer learning, FHI 360 works closely with local organizations to improve their adaptive learning, data use, decision-making and knowledge management. We also apply our expertise in social and behavior change to enable local organizations to more effectively communicate with their target audiences and advocate for social change. To sustain advancements made by local partners, FHI 360 is supporting the establishment of locally operated civil society strengthening hubs in Bogotá and Medellín that will provide high-quality, market-driven capacity strengthening services to organizations throughout Colombia.
FHI 360 is also a partner on Johnson & Johnson’s Bridge to Employment project, which works with secondary schools and institutions of higher education to increase students’ awareness of health careers and education beyond secondary school. We provide technical assistance on mentoring, work-based learning and classroom curricula that result in increased opportunities for students and young adults living in marginalized communities.
