The Uganda Health Activity (UHA) project works with the government of Uganda to ensure that Ugandans — especially vulnerable populations — across 76 districts and cities in seven regions have access to and receive inclusive, respectful and people-centered care. To achieve equitable and sustainable health outcomes for Ugandan families and strengthen local health systems and service delivery networks, UHA improves health care worker competences, implements quality improvement methods and integrates high-impact interventions.
UHA is funded by USAID and led by the University Research Co. (URC). To implement the project, FHI 360 works as part of an integrated consortium, which includes Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU), the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), Marie Stopes Uganda, Panagora Group and Youth Alive. FHI 360’s role is to provide crosscutting technical leadership on reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; nutrition; non-surgical family planning; and social and behavior change programming.
