Programa Para o Futuro-Mozambique (PPFuturo-MZ) is a pilot initiative funded by USAID/Mozambique. The project is implemented by FHI 360 in partnership with the groups Associação de Fomento para o Desenvolvimento Comunitário and Auxílio Sem Fronteiras under the Capable Partners Program.
This youth-employability project is designed to enable older orphans and at-risk children to gain the capacity to transform their lives and secure economic prosperity. PPFuturo-MZ uses a project-based learning approach to enable children to gain employability, literacy, numeracy, decision making and problem-solving skills that are essential for success in the workplace.
Through the project, youth also develop voice and agency and knowledge about HIV/AIDs and gender. To eliminate common barriers to participation and success, the project also provides youth with physical and social-psychological support including access to counseling services, meals, uniforms and transportation stipends.
