DURHAM N.C. — FHI 360 is pleased to welcome Sarah Burch to its board of directors.
Burch is a managing director at Rippleworks, a nonprofit foundation focused on supporting growth stage social ventures primarily in emerging markets. As part of the executive team, Burch leads operations and strategic planning for Rippleworks, including using impact data and systems to make more effective, data-informed decisions.
“Sarah believes in creating a more equitable world and actively works to break down the systemic, organizational and individual barriers that influence who can access resources and opportunities,” says Dr. Tessie San Martin, chief executive officer of FHI 360. “Her passion and professional experience will be a meaningful asset to aiding FHI 360 on our mission to create a world where opportunity is within reach for all people.”
Prior to her roles at Rippleworks, where she was a founding team member, Burch helped launch Development Innovation Ventures, a first of its kind early-stage innovation fund in the U.S. Agency for International Development that has since invested more than US$200 million across nearly 300 grants in more than 50 countries.
Burch holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame and is a Kauffman Fellow.
