WASHINGTON, D.C. — FHI 360 is proud to announce that it is among eight companies selected to support the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in its ongoing work to prevent the outbreak, recurrence or escalation of conflict and promote peaceful, resilient societies. The Programming for Prevention and Peacebuilding (P4P2) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract, with a potential value of up to $800M, will support improving development outcomes in countries affected by fragility and violence. FHI360’s team includes CARE and other international and local partners.
“FHI 360 is mobilizing our resources to help address proliferating crises sparked by violent conflict and by climate change, with a focus on locally led and integrated solutions,” says Anne Salinas, FHI 360’s director of peacebuilding and conflict mitigation. “This award will enable our skilled staff and partners around the globe to continue our work preventing conflict and fostering greater social cohesion and more peaceful and resilient societies.”
For the last 20 years, across five continents, FHI 360 has developed and implemented solutions to violent conflict and extremism. It works to resolve and prevent violence and extremism through adaptive peacebuilding, which starts with understanding the complex and dynamic nature of the situation at hand and continuously updating that knowledge and awareness. This approach, which can be implemented in a variety of contexts, supports local communities and actors as they build the capacity to create their own solutions.
“Our agile response to USAID and national stakeholders will build on our successes from projects in more than 60 countries,” Salinas says. “Our years of on-the-ground experience enable us to support local stakeholders by understanding local systems and the dynamics of conflicts, advancing locally led solutions, and strengthening the role of women and youth to prevent violence, conflict and fragility.”
