WASHINGTON, D.C. — FHI 360 is pleased to welcome Desiree Pipkins, who takes on the newly created role of chief impact officer. In this capacity, she will oversee the execution of FHI 360’s strategic change initiatives and lead its public policy and advocacy efforts.
“In addition to her deep knowledge of policy matters and the workings of the U.S. government, Desiree brings invaluable experience leading change initiatives,” says Dr. Tessie San Martin, CEO of FHI 360. “As FHI 360 embarks on a new organizational strategy, Desiree will play a critical role in positioning us for even greater impact in the years to come.”
Pipkins has more than 15 years of experience in leading operational transformation and strategy development and execution for complex global organizations. She joins FHI 360 from Mercy Corps, where, among her accomplishments as interim deputy chief operating officer and chief of staff to the CEO, she oversaw the development of an enterprise-wide, 10-year strategy and the formulation and launch of change initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion and to localization.
“I’ve dedicated much of my career to driving positive social change and supporting people who are working to make a positive impact in the world,” says Desiree Pipkins. “I look forward to leveraging my experience in support of FHI 360’s mission.”
Earlier in her career, Pipkins held leadership positions in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Affairs during the Obama Administration and was a business development lead for U.S. government accounts at Palantir Technologies Inc. She also served on the Obama-Biden and Biden-Harris U.S. presidential transition teams and on election observation missions with the National Democratic Institute.
