The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) is a prestigious international conference that recognizes outstanding achievements in medicine and public health worldwide. It will be held virtually January 26–29, 2022 from Phuket, Thailand. This year’s theme — “The World We Want: Actions Towards a Sustainable, Fairer and Healthier Society” — encompasses three topics: “The World We Want: Megatrends and Futuristic Points of View,” “The World We Want: Scaling up Efforts to Address Climate Change and Building Forward Greener” and “Learning from the COVID-19 Pandemic to Better Prepare for Tomorrow’s Challenges.”

FHI 360, as a part of the International Organizing Committee for PMAC 2022, has been involved in planning and supporting the organization of the 2022 and 2023 conferences as well as leading and facilitating the work of the sub-theme “The World We Want: Scaling up Efforts to Address Climate Change and Building Forward Greener.”

FHI 360’s technical presence includes the following:

  • S3: “Scaling up Efforts to Tackle the Climate Crisis and Building Forward Greener,” to be held on January 27, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Bangkok time (UTC+07:00). The working group for this session is led by Thu-Ba Huynh, senior advisor, Environment and Climate Change, at FHI 360. It has also produced a podcast, “The World We Want: Youth Voices on Climate and Health, Part 1.”
  • S6: “Pandemic Preparedness and Response: Stopping the Next Outbreak Before it Becomes a Pandemic,” to be held on January 29, from 6 to 7 p.m. Bangkok time (UTC+07:00). This session is co-moderated by Tim Mastro, FHI 360’s chief science officer.
