Structural interventions for HIV
The Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve control of the HIV epidemic among key and priority populations.
Structural interventions in this instance aim to create changes in the underlying social, political, or economic structures that constrain public health. For key populations, this means targeting the human rights violations, stigma and discrimination, and violence they experience with structural interventions focusing on the “critical enablers” of effective HIV service delivery and uptake.
The EpiC project supports local partners to strengthen their work on structural interventions. These materials offer up-to-date knowledge and tools from the EpiC project that can be used to strengthen HIV programming worldwide.
