As FHI 360 marks its 50th anniversary, explore our history of solutions and future of possibilities.
In 2020, 50 youth in two refugee settlements in Uganda developed skills in research, communication, advocacy, problem-solving and teamwork through their participation in the UNICEF/Uganda Youth Participatory Design and Monitoring Activity. The activity, funded by UNICEF and implemented by FHI 360, falls under the PROSPECTS partnership, which works to improve access to employment, education and protection for refugees and host communities.
Issa Bagarirayose, a twenty-three-year-old who lives in Nakivale refugee settlement, was one of the participants. The skills he built during the project, including photography and videography skills, inspired him to start his own business.
