March 2019 — The Quality Improvement Series reports on country-level applications of the science of improvement to achieve a specific health systems goal. The series uses the plan-do-study-act (PDSA)-based model for improvement and the collaborative model to manage a large-scale improvement effort. Processes are described, results are analyzed and lessons are drawn for scaling up improvement and the institutionalization of quality improvement.
