2004 — System-wide Collaborative Action for Livelihoods and the Environment (SCALE) is an approach for broadening development impact. By providing a framework to achieve widespread change, SCALE can help improve people’s livelihoods and quality of life by helping them manage their natural resources in a sustainable way. SCALE has evolved from more than a decade of work by GreenCOM, an FHI 360 global environmental communication program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
This booklet provides an overview of the SCALE approach for readers interested in achieving sustainable solutions to challenges in natural resource and agricultural management. Resources for additional information, including SCALE training opportunities, are also included.
