July 2015 — In this report, FHI 360 presents the findings of an impact evaluation carried out for a community schools project closing in El Salvador. The purpose of this impact evaluation was to understand whether different school management models have an impact on student advancement. Key questions the evaluation team sought to answer included (1) to what extent has the decision to end the project affected decentralized management of rural schools in El Salvador and (2) to what extent has student advancement in the project schools changed since the government’s decision to end the program?
