November 2017 — This report presents the results of the Akwa Ibom AIDS Indicator Survey (AKAIS), the first HIV-focused, population-based survey to be conducted in Nigeria and to have its findings disseminated. This 2017 survey provides more accurate estimates on HIV prevalence and contains evidence-based guidance on the design of future HIV control activities in the Akwa Ibom state.
