Promoting Evidence-based Vasectomy Programming

May 2016 — Vasectomy is among the most cost-effective and safest family planning methods for meeting the needs of men and women who desire to limit future births, but it is underused in low-resource settings. By promoting and supporting the voluntary use of vasectomy, countries can move toward national family planning goals, decrease service delivery costs and integrate men into reproductive health as both informed supporters of women-controlled methods and as contraceptive users. These resources, produced with support from the Evidence Project, can help advocates, program managers, service providers and policymakers to promote the evidence-based practice of vasectomy.
