Learning: Developing a Phonics-based Reading Program in the Dagbani Language

May 2017 — The USAID Ghana Partnership for Education: Learning activity has developed a systematic, phonics-based reading program with materials for primary grade P1 to use as a prototype in 20 schools in the Yendi Municipal District of northern Ghana. This fact sheet presents results from the prototype activities and shares Learning’s approach to implementing a phonics-based reading program in Dagbani, one of Ghana’s 11 approved languages of instruction.
