This paper shares insights from Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Health and the Health Information System Stakeholders’ collaborative review of the 2006 National Health Management Information System policy. The review highlighted the need for strong governance and leadership from the government to reduce fragmentation of national health information systems. The authors also discussed the revisions and implementation of the 2014 Health Management Information System policy.
