ELEVATE Nutrition (Enhancing Local Efforts for Vital, Transformative, and Evidence-Based Nutrition) is USAID’s flagship multisectoral nutrition activity that works to advance local efforts to improve the nutritional status of women and children, particularly in the first 1,000 days from pregnancy to age 2.
A five-year activity led by FHI 360 with a consortium of strategic partners, ELEVATE Nutrition is bridging the gap between global evidence and local implementation to help create a world in which all women and children are well-nourished and able to thrive.
Our focus is on supporting leaders at the national and subnational levels to advance the implementation of high-quality nutrition programs and policies. We have three core result areas. First, we will sustain technical leadership to improve diet quality, strengthen programming to prevent and treat wasting, shift to healthier nutrition-related behaviors and norms, and increase the effectiveness of multisectoral nutrition governance. Second, we will enhance the delivery of evidence-based nutrition policies and programs through tailored capacity-strengthening approaches. And third, we will enhance knowledge and learning at all levels — from global to communities — through the creation of easily accessible resources to amplify achievements in nutrition.
To implement ELEVATE Nutrition, FHI 360 is collaborating with Action Against Hunger, Bixal, Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA), GEMNet-Health, and Oxford Policy Management. Our project team has expertise in evidence-based health andnutrition and food systems programming in development and humanitarian settings. We also have an established presence and robust operational platforms in USAID’s nutrition priority countries.
