As director of FHI 360’s Project Management Office, Rebecca Johnson works across the organization to facilitate and support the implementation of strategic change initiatives. Johnson’s experience spans the management consulting space, along with various roles within the FHI 360 family of companies that uniquely position her to lead a change effort across the global organization.
Previously, Johnson served as the vice president, business operations at FHI Clinical, leading the continuous development of infrastructure to support an expanding global portfolio. Prior to partnering in the launch of FHI Clinical, Johnson spent eight years at FHI 360, where she directed and oversaw large-scale continuous improvement projects and successfully implemented strategic initiatives through enhanced project management methodologies and reporting systems. Earlier in her career, she worked as a management consultant and also served as a small business development volunteer with the Peace Corps.
Johnson places an emphasis on managing a strategic team and putting in place efficient processes, and she has experience leading the human resources, proposals, information technology, contracts, procurement and marketing functions of an organization. She has expertise in continuous improvement initiatives, global business management and team leadership. She works to align project and program strategy with business and financial goals by establishing effective policies and procedures.
Johnson has also served as an adjunct professor at Duke University, teaching a masters course on project management with a focus on the complex nature of global projects. She has a Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in policy from Duke University.
