Geremie Sawadogo has driven progress in international education, global development and human resource management for over 30 years.
He spent nearly 20 years at the World Bank Group, in various roles across human resources and program management.
Between 1997 and 2002, Sawadogo served as country director for the Peace Corps in Benin. During this time, he successfully translated the Peace Corps’ development assistance strategy into support activities in four sectors — teacher training, HIV and AIDS education, environmental education, and small business development — and was recognized by the Office of the Inspector General for his outstanding management and leadership.
He began his career as a professor of international education at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
Sawadogo has been a board member of ChildFund International since 2016. He has published pieces on international education, intercultural competence, and relocation support in Africa. Sawadogo holds a PhD in international and comparative education from the University of Iowa.
Sawadogo joined the FHI 360 Board of Directors in August 2023.
