December 10, 2023, marked the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a landmark document that enshrines the inalienable rights to which all people should be entitled, no matter where they live. Yet around the world, we are witnessing an erosion of human rights.
The situation is daunting, but FHI 360 remains undaunted. We know that a world where opportunity is within reach for all people is only possible when the dignity of all people is respected. So, every day, FHI 360 and our partners recommit ourselves to finding solutions that enhance equity, health and well-being — the foundation of human dignity.
On this International Human Rights Day, FHI 360 pauses to honor victims of human rights repression who are imprisoned simply for the peaceful expression of their political, religious or other conscientiously held beliefs. We acknowledge the tireless work of human rights defenders, humanitarian aid workers and development professionals around the world. And we reaffirm our commitment to advancing peace, well-being and justice — so humanity may thrive.
