DURHAM, N.C. – FHI 360 has taken the difficult decision to furlough additional U.S. staff members, following previous staffing adjustments made in February. In total, 45% of our U.S. workforce, including more than 150 North Carolina residents, are now affected. These decisions are the result of the continued freeze on U.S. foreign assistance, including of programs covered under lifesaving waivers for which funds have yet to be made available. The organization extends our deepest gratitude to our talented and hard-working staff.
We remain dedicated to delivering the same high-quality, evidence-driven results that our public, private and philanthropic partners have come to expect from FHI 360.
Correction: This statement was updated to correct an error in the number of furloughed staff who are North Carolina residents. A total of more than 150 U.S. staff furloughed live in North Carolina, not more than 370. We deeply regret this error.
