FHI 360 uses micro-, small- and medium-enterprise strengthening and development interventions focused on the sustainable tourism industry as a driver of biodiversity conservation, natural resource management and protection of cultural patrimony. FHI 360 experts train and build the capacity of tourism providers and community-based enterprises in critical skills, ranging from business plan development to accounting and even biodiversity conservation. We educate businesses about the value of the environment and the natural resources on which they depend.
FHI 360 projects facilitate sustainable tourism partnerships, awareness raising, guide training, capacity building in the hospitality industry and improvements in eco-lodge operations. Our sustainable tourism initiatives ensure that women-led businesses have equal access to information, credit and capacity-building programs. We also provide a range of enterprise development opportunities targeting women, such as handicraft development and tour guide services.
