FHI 360’s education experts have worked for decades alongside committed educators around the world to reestablish systems and renew hope in the wake of conflict. Together, we do more than rebuild school systems. We provide a strong foundation for a nation’s — and its children’s — future.
In post-conflict and fragile countries, FHI 360 supports ministries to put in place the policies, standards, systems, infrastructure and human capacity to ensure every child regains the right to learn.
Policies, planning and standards
Working with local educators and ministries of education, we facilitate data collection and research to inform planning and guide policy making. Our programs aid in the development of standards for teachers and learners.
Systems
Finance, information management, teacher preparation and deployment, materials development and distribution — these system components often need to be reengineered following civil conflict. FHI 360 assists local education managers in reviving education systems and readying them for the future.
Capacity building
Individuals are the foundation of any education system. We work side by side with teachers, administrators and other education staff so they can be empowered with the skills and know-how to build a brighter future for their students.
FHI 360 is an active member of the Inter- Agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) and the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Education Cluster. We provide technical assistance to these international bodies and to United Nations agencies, bilateral donors, nongovernmental organizations and ministries of education.
