More than 85 million young people worldwide are unemployed, making employment one of the most critical issues in youth development. Formal schooling does not adequately prepare all youth to navigate, secure and succeed in the workplace. Our programs help youth develop social networks, build employability and technical skills and promote entrepreneurship.
FHI 360 experts work with governments, the private sector and local organizations to increase employment opportunities. We offer access to finance and microfinance initiatives, help jumpstart youth-run enterprises and strengthen value chains to improve local economic growth. Partnering with businesses, schools and communities, we promote workforce development and employment with dignity.
At-risk youth, including those who are poor, marginalized, unemployed, orphaned, discriminated against, disabled or out-of-school face great challenges. FHI 360 offers these youth a second chance through vocational training programs and mentoring to help them transition to a positive life path.
Through the Johnson & Johnson Bridge to Employment program, FHI 360 is helping disadvantaged youth enter health-related occupations in the United States and around the world. Since the start of the program, more than 100,000 students have been placed in new jobs or higher education opportunities.
