Early support is critical for children to develop, learn and reach their highest potential. We provide integrated childhood programming that recognizes the crucial links among education, health and community building. Our international programs include social and behavior change communication campaigns that work in conjunction with breastfeeding and complementary nutrition. We work in early childhood education settings to support preliteracy and school readiness activities.
Our programs in the United States support the most vulnerable young people, including children in migrant and tribal communities, as well as children with, or at risk of developing, disabilities. We operate programs on behalf of the Office of Head Start and the U.S. Department of Education. Our research-based training and technical assistance, professional development and family education initiatives strengthen systems of care and education at the national, regional, state and local levels. In the past decade, we have helped achieve positive outcomes for more than 1 million children through these programs.
