In Côte d’Ivoire, FHI 360 partners with the government to address the country’s most pressing health and development challenges. Through targeted technical assistance, we build the capacity of government and local organizations to strengthen health systems and implement quality programs and interventions that are evidence-based, are sustainable and promote collaboration.
Working closely with international and local partners, we provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and AIDS Control to develop prevention, care and support initiatives that address sexually transmitted infections and HIV and AIDS among populations at higher risk, people living with HIV, and orphans and vulnerable children. We also assist the Ministry of Defense in conducting HIV and AIDS prevention and support interventions for military personnel, police and their families, and in implementing an HIV prevalence and behavioral risk survey among military personnel.
In recent years, our work in Côte d’Ivoire has expanded beyond HIV and AIDS programming to include the implementation and scale-up of proven malaria control strategies and a focus on food security. Our team supports the National Nutrition Program in conducting innovative interventions that improve the ability of at-risk households to access adequate, nutritious food.
