Daniel Messer has over 25 years of experience leading innovative digital health, artificial intelligence and information technology (IT) systems across the global health, development and humanitarian sectors. As FHI 360’s chief digital and information technology transformation officer, he works to align digital and IT strategy and operations with FHI 360’s mission.
Messer’s leadership spans public and private sectors and includes collaborations with ministries of health. Prior to joining FHI 360, he was vice president and chief information officer at Population Services International (PSI), where he led digital and IT transformation. Earlier in his career, Messer directed information systems for the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), including electronic medical records solutions. He co-founded and chaired the Nonprofit Organizations Knowledge Initiative (NPOKI), helping international nonprofit organizations achieve greater, more measurable impact with knowledge tools and strategies.
Messer holds a master’s degree in sociology from Freie Universität Berlin.
