2014 — The Project for HIV and AIDS Strategic Technical Assistance (PRASIT), led by FHI 360, conducted a sentinel surveillance study among Cambodian transgender individuals in six major urban centers (Phnom Penh, Battambang, Banteay Mean Chhey, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville) that are considered priority sites for HIV programming. The study confirms that transgender individuals in Cambodia are at an increased risk of HIV transmission and demonstrates their urgent need for access to HIV prevention and access to care and treatment services.
