July 2023 — The DSLN Roadmap, from FHI 360’s District Summer Learning Network (DSLN), guides school districts through planning three years of evidence-based, high-quality summer learning experiences for students. The roadmap encourages districts to reflect on their current summer learning programs; articulate a bold vision for transforming those programs; create room for districts to intentionally learn, reflect and grow over time; and identify actions that will allow summer programs to achieve positive and sustainable change. DSLN’s three pillars — equity, partnerships, and whole child development — are embedded throughout the roadmap to help ensure that summer learning programs enrich and uplift students, families, communities, and the schools and educators who serve them.
