May 2017 — Young people’s sexual and reproductive health and employability are strongly linked. Evidence suggests that integrated workforce development and sexual and reproductive health programs could yield better health and workforce outcomes than single-sector youth programs alone. Little is known, however, about the most effective elements of holistic youth programming. This report illustrates the state of the field of integrated workforce and sexual and reproductive health interventions for youth and reveals the combinations of interventions that have shown to be effective in improving the lives of youth. The resulting theory of change serves as a guide for future development of workforce and sexual and reproductive health programming for youth.
